This week, The Palestine Laboratory Podcast drops its final episode for all subscribers, focusing on how technology used by Israel in its occupation and siege of Gaza is exported worldwide to democratic and authoritarian governments alike.

So far in 2024, the U.S. government has committed around $18 million to Cellebrite, up from $15 million that agencies had spent via contracts with the firm in fiscal year 2023. In addition to federal business, thousands of local and state and agencies across the U.S. also use the firm’s technology.

    “local and state agencies” namely law enforcement organizations. Your local retail shop is not using cellbrite shit in their stack. And while historically it is an Israeli company, it’s now a wholly owned subsidiary of the Sun Corporation owned by the Japanese. I don’t mention any of that to defend cellbrite gear, what they sell and who they sell it to is pretty fucked.
