Is “steering wheel” the metal stick on side of the car?
Yes, it’s a tiller steering arm that you would lean in the direction you wanted to go. Cars at the time could only reach a top speed of about 20 mph so this kind of steering was good enough, and much simpler than the rotary mechanism used for a steering wheel.
