An “an anonymous source says” article (i.e., deliberate leak to the press; standard sports industry practice). Toronto, the WNBA’s 14th franchise, is expected to start play May 2026 and play at Coca-Cola Coliseum, an 8,000-seat arena at Toronto’s CNE grounds which is home to the Marlies and where Toronto’s Professional Women’s Hockey League franchise is currently playing its first playoff series. An official announcement is expected May 23rd

We already have a basketball team, why couldn’t it be for something we don’t have

We also just lost the Arrows :(

On the up side at least you won’t be spending millions of tax dollars on a new stadium/arena

We have enough fields to not need it

The aforementioned Arrows played at York University for instance

Don’t think we have any Aussie/Gaelic football, Calcio Fiorentino, field lacrosse/hockey, or Ultimate teams and unfortunately no rugby union teams
