This article is missing some information. CNN-News18 has had live coverage for the past six hours. Things started off well. White House staff installed anti-scaling fencing, which is normal. They were waving flags, holding signs and a red border signifying a red line. The chants were loud and seemed well organized.
As the crowd grew, a few protesters began spray painting a statue and throwing smoke bombs, obviously discrediting to the cause. Park Police began taking spray cans from the protesters, who in turn started throwing objects at the Park Police. That’s when the pepper spray came out. Bad actors were ejected and the protest continued.
The vast majority of protesters are civil and facing no resistance in their protest.
Watch it live here:
That’s not CNN but also don’t let a few bad actors distract from the protest reason.
I didn’t realize at first, but it seems you’re right. It’s CNN-News18. It turns out they were created in partnership with CNN and News 18 India. I’ll edit for clarity.
I agree. The vast majority of the protesters are doing the right thing. The article makes it seem like they’re all being civil and getting pepper sprayed for no reason. That’s hardly the case. It only came out to combat those throwing projectiles and smoke bombs. I watched it happen a couple hours ago.
Overall, the protest is going well now. Bad actors have been removed, and the scene has been loud and clear.
Also, watch this…
The White House is now COMPLETELY SURROUNDED by red banner as Palestine Protesters declare their “red line.”
This is the moment the two ends of the red line met on the south west corner of the White House complex.
I saw the red line banner on the live feed. It’s brilliant! I can’t watch the video without creating an account though.
What an awesome moment! Thanks for sharing!
I would say to go to politicians’ homes but they’ll probably start shooting protesters.
They live in a huge gated neighborhood a few miles outside of DC, I believe. Personally I’d stage a protest at the place they all send their kids to school, The Sidwell Friends School, I believe it’s called.
Oh cops would for sure get violent if they showed up at a school. Protesters should demonstrate where they live.
