Is it? It’s where most people still post publicly, and until someone unseats Twitter on that throne (which I hope is really soon) no other network is going to compete in terms of having the users people want to follow…

I don’t mind them having account there. They need to reach people where they are after all. I’m pissed at them for not being on any platform that is not owned by a fascist enabler oligarch at best.

Why do you need to see what celebs post? I never had twitter and for sure I will never have X, honestly I never understood the point, is it Facebook with smaller posts?

Not sure. My significant other used to follow football games on there while I was watching them live because she felt it help her understand what was going on. From what I saw it was good at having quick updates, but terrible at relaying accurate information. Mostly just dumb opinions that were proven wrong seconds later. It helped her learn people’s names though, not so much anything more about positions, formations, plays, or any kind of strategy. All of the drama with none of the reason it seemed to me, but I was bias I’m sure.

Hypothetical example, it would show someone pissed about a bad call, but never explain that the call was supposed to be lowering the crown of their helmet and using the helmet as a battering ram in a way that would increase safety risks for players. So unless I explained the bad call after, all they see is the play quickly, arguing and drama, but never know the reason. (Which the announcers would try to explain in many scenarios, but that audio would not show on Twitter)

I can relate to that, I normally go to those websites that have the live stats and stuff but I wouldn’t create an account just for that.

The bigger shocker to me is that the platform still exists at all… didn’t the largest advertisers pull out? I thought it was hemeraging money. I keep waiting for them to pull the plug on it, or at least sell it at a huge discounted price.

Shitter is just one website. If I post to mastodon, people on hundreds of websites can see my content. Why on earth would I post to shitter if I wanted visibility???

Because one website with millions of users is more reach than 100 websites with few users. Doesn’t mean you should use Ex-Twitter but it makes it understandable why lots still do

Millions of users is a bit of a misleading term. You mean millions of Nazis. I don’t care to talk to Nazis.

I do. Because some of them might be able to be brought to reason. I still don’t use Ex-Twitter anymore though, since they’ve blocked third party apps.

A whale is just one animal. If I look at my driveway, I can see hundreds of ants. Why on earth would I look anywhere else if I wanted to see animals?

Anybody still using it at this point deserves all the brain damage it causes. No excuses.
