Hindu vigilantes have long tried to stop the cow trade, often carried out by Muslims, but have become more extreme and flamboyant thanks to American social media platforms that reward them with large online followings.

Last October, Manesar received a “Silver Creator” award from YouTube for reaching 100,000 subscribers and posed with his plaque next to a cow.

For what it’s worth, this is probably an automated process: if an active YouTube channel has 100k subscribers and hasn’t yet been flagged as abusive, it automatically can get this status. The channel was later demonetized and videos taken down, but it’s not clear that YouTube has yet made any changes to prevent this from recurring.

The channel’s videos were flagged for abuse. I know, because I have flagged the violent ones & so have many other people.

Neither google/ youtube nor meta/ (facebook, instagram, whatsapp), nor X take down violent Hindu extremeist content until and unless the issue is raised by well-known foreign media (indian independent media carries no weight with them and Indian mainstream media creates & spreads Islamophobia night & day) or when Indian police decide to act.

WSJ has been consistently raising & chasing Meta, X, and Youtube on this for years now, since 2020. When it gets too hot for them, the SM co.s close/ suspend the hate & violence filled a/cs fr a shot while, and then reinstate them when the heat is off. This behaviour of theirs is also documented.

There is no doubt, in my mind, that they’ll do the same for Monu Manesar’s a/cs and other Hindu extremeist a/c,s.

To be fair, this is the case for most things. They don’t give a shit what’s on their platform unless it’s causing bad PR or harming their relationships with advertisers

Representatives from YouTube and Meta also told her they worried that removing hateful influencers would physically endanger the firms’ employees in India.

And yet these ultra-powerful mega-wealthy organizations did not raise the issue with the US gov or the Indian govt to ensure safety of their employees for adhering to corporate standards nor did they shut shop in India till the Modi govt guaranteed the safety of their staff. these SMs know modi needs them to spread his hate-filled agenda.

X/ twitter is partly owned by Islamic UAE, yet they let Hindu supremacists say the vilest Islamophobic comments, post vile acts of violence against Muslims. So much for Islamic ummah.

To this day, trying to get an Islamophobic a/c down on any of the SMs mentiond is an act of patience and oftentimes futility.
