Despite any initial reservations about Harris’ ability to lead,
He did pick her for veep, so it’d be weird if this was true.
He also campaigned on being a 1 term president
Isn’t it funny how surprised he is that he kept that promise?
Isn’t it admirable that he strung trump along, baiting out all the most ageist shit the magasphere could possibly generate only to drop out after the rnc convention, forcing tired dumb trump to throw out 6 years of campaign stumping?
He’s been extremely competent, of course. I think history will treat him more kindly than we have.
The media is pulling out ALL the stops to turn the DNC into a drama-filled fiasco, but Dems aren’t going to let it happen.
Call me when he goes on a nine fucking year grievance tour.
Do you miss him?
Nah
You can admit it, you’re in a safe space here.
You spent a long time going over everything that man did and said so it’s okay to feel some grief now.
Glad he’s out
The article headline makes you think it’s a quote from biden. The article makes you think it’s a quote from his friend. Follow it to axios, and you find that it’s their own interpretation, and still should be left in context.
I thought he’d understood why it was better for him to drop out of the race, but I guess that was overly optimistic of me
He can understand, but still be pissed the work he put in during this administration wasn’t able to carry him to a second term after being undermined by his age and debate performance. Especially considering the alternative
If the change hadn’t been made, he’d be polling third behind RFKjr.
I mean that’s kind of crazy hyperbole… RFK Jr, is still a crazy who only appeals to a tiny portion of people. Biden would continue to lose ground to trump, but I imagine he’d have probably held the popular vote, but remain losing in all the states that matter for the election.
This might rub some folks the wrong way, but I have zero sympathy for him. Even if he feels betrayed, which is kind of understandable, that’s politics man, and sometimes it’s rough. Especially when the candidate can’t string together a coherent sentence.
But since he’s been in positions with significant power for longer than most of us have been alive, you’d think he would have understood that about his chosen career by now? In presidential politics, the only thing that matters is winning, and he wasn’t going to win.
Assuming he truly understands the stakes of the election, this was the most politically savvy decision he could have possibly made, so frankly it’s time to suck it up and enjoy the showers of love and praise he’s getting, and spend that government pension on some awesome vacations. Goodbye, and thank you for your service. Please lay off the whining, it’s not a great look.

https://www.axios.com/2024/08/19/biden-dnc-speech-harris I read the article and the linked axios article, and I’m still not sure there was any value to them. Maybe he is still pissed, and he’s talking about it with his pals, but if he doesn’t do anything with them, he’s entitled to feel what he wants. He laughed when he heard a friend defended him. Cool!
