As they say, the best argument against democracy is a 5 minute chat with an average voter. That average voter in this case being Janet.

That seems like more an argument for why we need significantly better public education, not for why the tyranny of the minority is better than the tyranny of the majority

stop. pull it back, because youre being silly. the education of a pop star is not an issue. you’re responding stupidly to stupid questions. education should be available to everyone.

unfortunately, some think you shouldn’t learn about welding in college if you want to study advanced english literature.

          it’s just an example.

You unfortunately can’t get everyone no matter how good the education system is. Especially if you live in a state like Indiana where it’s trendy to give money to private and charter schools instead of public school.

That’s why I’m talking about Public schools that are available to everyone. Not just High School either, College should also be public and free. I would even support paying students to attend college, like in some European countries. I agree that Private Schools are terrible for many reasons, they take money away from public schools, and they are commonly used to segregate communities.

If you were born a citizen you must actively revoke it. It requires a large fee, an interview to make sure you know what you’re doing, and submitting official paperwork.

        So forever. For anyone.

“[Harris’] father’s white,” Jackson is quoted as saying. “That’s what I was told."

And why is the media/people so obsessed with what celebrities have to say about anything? Want to ask something about music, especially the kind of music she is known for? Ask Janet Jackson. For other stuff, maybe not ask and if she offers don’t report on it.

Janet Jackson does have a huge pop legacy. I 'member 80s MTv. I don’t know much about her outside of that and the Jackson family and the “wardrobe malfunction”, which, who gives af. But she sounds not too bright in this article… yet rich anyways.

“Well, you know what they supposedly said?" Jackson is quoted as saying during the interview in her adopted hometown of London. “She’s not black. That’s what I heard. That she’s Indian.”

The author wrote that she responded with a correction, telling Jackson that Harris does have Indian heritage but is also Black.

“[Harris’] father’s white,” Jackson is quoted as saying. “That’s what I was told. I mean, I haven’t watched the news in a few days. I was told that they discovered her father was white.”

edit: here is the original article, which is long and i will read soon, but nbc may well have butchered for all i know: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/sep/21/janet-jackson-interview-on-bad-relationships-new-music-and-kamala-harris

It’s so easy to just look up a picture of harris’ dad.

I thought the bullshit right wing argument was that she only brought up that part of her background for political points, not the even more ludicrous argument that a black man from jamaica is actually white.

America politics is basically: this rich celebrity tells me to vote for this guy, but the other rich celebrity tells me to vote for the other guy. Which celebrity do i have to listen to to be on the winning team.

It doesn’t sound like Kamala is getting Janet Jackson’s endorsement. I question if she even votes.

The Jacksons were abused by their parents, it’s not shocking that they are all a bunch of mental cases. She’s probably best friends with Roseanne Barr.
