minus-squareILikeBoobies@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoIs that why games always look better on Linux than on Windows?
minus-squarefolkrav@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoHigh-DPI I just don’t understand. I tried. Yeah, it’s pretty, but that’s all it is for me. More content on screen > sharper text for me, thank you. Higher refresh rates and VRR are pretty neat though. Just at 75Hz I already feel the difference pretty clearly when I go back to my 60Hz laptop.

minus-squarefolkrav@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoIt’s pretty great for media consumption and gaming, with the right hardware. Otherwise it kind of blows.
minus-squareMonkderZweite@feddit.chlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·edit-21 year agoThat’s Display Server level, DE is 2 levels higher. HDR in a DE sounds like a pain. You know, that flashing problem with the phone in the night?
minus-squareMooseBoys@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoThat’s why your phone has a brightness slider, or better yet an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness. DE will need something similar.

what’s HDR?
High Dynamic Range. Compatible software, computer and monitor can display a greater range of brightnesses.
Why does everyone like it so much?
I’d tell you… if I had it!

Well, yeah, but actually, no.

Flashing problem?
Too bright in the dark.
