there’s no reason think that the lemmy.ml instance - the instance run by the lemmy API devs - is going to just disappear. it’s very likely they’ll just migrate to a different domain if they have to.
word was that most of other instances on .ml top level domain had free domains, which the government took away, while lemmy.ml was paid domain and not a free one, so it’s still alive. but we’ll see.
in worst case they will migrate current server and config to another domain.

Honestly, I’m a little suprised lemmy.ml is still up. lemmy.fmhy.ml has already gone down. This was what lead to me standing up my own instance.

Mali government is taking back the .ml domain. Nobody knows what they’re going to do with it though. lemmy.ml may still stick around.
