Pretty much the same arc as Reagan - he was an idiot, but people knew who he was from his acting days, and he knew how to talk to a crowd - and his simple demeanor played well with blue collar workers and rural America. It’s quite fair to point out that Ronnie Raygun and his revolution really did send this country down a very dark road. Despite all that “sunny optimism” bullshit so many fell for. You can draw a line from all the damage Ronnie set up to donvict…including Ronnie not being held account in the least for what he did.
