Today’s lesson: If you want to point out that a place is particularly messy, you say: Das sieht aus, als ob da eine Bombe eingeschlagen hätte. meaning: This looks as if it has been hit by a bomb. This is quite adequate to describe even the messiest of places.

Slightly problematic, that one.)
