Profitec pro 500 PID paired with an ECM S-Automatik 64.
Excited to finally have a legit and dependable setup, had always bought broken machines and fixed them up (to varying levels of success) before this.
Any other Profitec users out there?
Fucking nee!
No no, machine day was its maiden name.
Haha, That’s what I get for posting from my phone!
You can change it can’t you?
very steam(ed) punk

2 internet points for you
Crema da crop!
I risa to da top!
Happy so far w an ECM (sister company) Mechanika. Very similar looking build and materials.
You’ve got more knobs to twiddle it looks like. Enjoy!
ECM Synchronika here! We’re cousins 😄 Absolutely excellent machine!
How do you like your ECM grinder?
The grinder is fantastic, I’m coming from an encore baratza, so it’s quite the upgrade for me. Still working out on how to program it for consistent dosing.
That’s great to hear! I hope you love your new machine! Enjoy!
Consistent dosing will come once you have 3 shots in a row without adjustment grind.
Ideally start by weighing your dose. I would aim for 17g in the double basket and then 25-30 seconds shot time (depending on your recipe).
Once that is locked in you can tweak grind time to get repeatability
Oooo! Newly subbed to this c/; is Friday machine day‽‽
It certainly can be! I’m not sure if anything is formal or not.
I just got one last month. Love it.
How long is the instruction manual 🤣
Beauty. Looks a lot like the rocket r58.
Can I ask what made you choose the Profitec? I’m starting my search for something under $3K as an upgrade from my Breville.
A lot will come down to supply and where you are located (country).
ECM and Profitec come from the same company and are built to a very high standard (German build from original Italian heritage).
It’s pretty easy to get parts and information online.
If you have the money and a decent grinder you can’t go wrong with them.
I agree with this, I prioritized features that I was looking for (PID, shot timer, flow control, E61, hot water spout, heat exchange) and that really only left a few options that within our budget. There’s a few machines from Rocket, Lelit, and Diletta that checked off a lot of boxes and were in the running but servicability, component quality, and tbh the utilitarian styling pushed me to this machine.
