Plus some upgrade discounts, but both policies will only apply to customers in India.
I am in India!
However I don’t buy oneplus :|
OnePlus is a joke. I’ve have had multiple issues with their software (thankfully not hardware yet). From Google Pay breaking to unfinished English translations and even removing (or messing with) features on updates. And other people online have had worse. I’ll probably just spend the money on some other company next time.
I have a 9Pro that was really great on Oxygen OS 11. Then
OneplusOppo dumped ColorOS 12 and 13 crapware on us and T-Mobile forced upgrades. The bugs in ColorOS often make the phone unusable. ALL my program icons regularly are just missing from the screen when the phone’s unlocked and it only shows the wallpaper. The display either won’t shut off or shuts off while I’m using it. The fingerprint reader icon randomly disappears when trying to use it or just doesn’t show up at all. I hope I never have to dial 911 with this POS because there’s a good chance I won’t be able to.
The hardware’s fine but that makes no difference at all without a usable OS, and there is no way Oppo is going fix anything. Last Oneplus phone I buy.
you can switch to lineage os
The purpose of my first Oneplus phone purchase years ago was that OxygenOS worked just fine without dealing with custom ROMs, but ColorOS’s bugs are so severe I’ll end up having to load Lineage or an AOSP distribution. Hopefully Google will sort out enough of the bugs by the next version to make a Pixel a good choice.
Reading the article that OP’s article linked to, two points:
-
It seems that other manufacturers are also running into this problem on phones with AMOLED displays too.
-
It sounds like some vendors may be telling their service centers to replace the issue if a user shows up with it, but not announcing the fact publicly:
https://www.androidauthority.com/how-to-fix-green-line-issue-on-phone-screen-3342058/
Some OEMs like Samsung, Apple, and OnePlus have advised their service centers and support channels to assist users affected by green line issues and repair devices for free, even outside the warranty period.
However, such advisories have not been issued by way of announcements in the public domain. Instead, they are offered as solutions at the customer support and service center level on a case-by-case basis.
Yeah, thankfully all my issues have been all software so far for me.

OnePlus somehow never completely avoided issues. I remember on the 5 there was a display issue too.
China isn’t particularly well known for its quality products, especially over longer periods of time.
After dealing w/ many Chinese suppliers in various industries I believe the blame falls on the OEM. If you ask for cheap garbage then you’ll get that. If you ask for tightly specified designs that are properly designed for the process at a reasonable price then you’ll get that.
Jelly screen lol
Which reminds me, I have a 3T with a broken screen that might benefit from the program
Only in India, which the title omitted to get clicks.
I think it’s mostly Indian phones that have this problem due to the cheaper materials? Or maybe I’m completely making this up- I just remember reading about it on the OnePlus subreddit
Overall most OnePlus phones use BOE panel which suffer this issue when you compare it to Samsung or LG. Even Apple has touted BOE as a supplier multiple time in the last 5 years, but they failed to meet Apple’s quality standard.
OP should have added that to title. Or is that not allowed?
I guess they used the auto suggest title feature where even the original article does not mention it. It’s mentioned in the subheading.
OnePlus died after the 6 for me… they became the very thing they told everyone they were going to “kill”.
I have bought many Oneplus phones and I love the entertainment the company has given me over the years. So many dumb ridiculous things, never a dull moment with Oneplus
I wish they would have kept OxygenOS 11 instead of replacing it with this buggy colourOS
What’s been buggy for you? The buggiest on my old OP 7T Pro was 10, then 11 was much smoother then 12 was a bit buggier again. Now I’m on OOS 13 on my OP11 and it’s been bug free (only have it for a week though and I installed all the updates)
