Starbucks is facing allegations from a consumer protection group that it unfairly made a profit of $900 million through app payments.

    They have a point, you cannot split payment methods if you want to order ahead, and the minimum reload is $10. If you order in person they can do it for you but ordering ahead is a main draw to using the app and you earn fewer "stars’ without a gift card.
