I think the problem with start up communities is that no one want to use it because it has no activity, which in turn discourages people from joining. Once you get that momentum going, it will keep growing. Some people are probably just thinking “I’mma use Lemmy for 2 days” the soon the 2 days became a permanent stay.
Neat. I tried getting into fediverse a couple time during the last 3 years and everytime I’d get bored after a day or two.
