“it includes more live-service, mobile, and free-to-play games.”
Everything I hate about gaming, thanks!
Everything that makes money, reliably.
Hitting that 2014 business sense 👌 as expected from Warner Brothers. I’m not sure how their executive team are still allowed to make decisions
Thank Discovery and David Zaslav. Next they’ll cancel their AAA games after they go gold so they can recoup the loss in tax credits or whatever sort of bullshit accounting they pull.
This is very interesting use of language. “Volatile” in their eyes means that once a product is sold, there’s nothing else left to leech from the consumers. Normally I would say that they are just afraid to commit to a certain type of product, but realistically speaking, all they have been releasing is e-waste either way. It makes sense for them to lean heavily into mtx instead
Sounds more like they’re mad that trash games don’t sell.
Remember kids, if your game has any form of microtransactions and/or DLC that totals the either the cost of the base game or over $100, then it’s light-years away from being anything near a triple AAA title.
Gotham Knights was so utterly boring and I can’t believe I paid $10 for it. But I can absolutely have seen it being successful as a free to play.
