Wonder if they’ll use a rigid OLED panel like they did on the 7a and 8a. Dylan Raga wrote an excellent piece reviewing the Pixel 8’s display where he said they’d finally switched to a flexible OLED panel on the regular model.

Flexible OLED panels have smaller bezels, better viewing angles and are less prone to exhibiting a rainbow effect. You can check Dylan Raga’s review of the Pixel 6, 7 and 8 to see why the 8’s display is an upgrade over the 6 and 7.

Bezels are good though. I like being able to hold my phone and not use the touch screen accidentally.

But that’s just your preference tho, most prefer smaller bezels for the looks and design is focused on what the market wants. I always use a case and screen protector anyway so maybe that’s why I never had issues with accidental touches.

Ya, kinda tired of hitting the edges of my samsung, and their accidental edge touch protection’s kinda useless.

The fact that there exists a solution to protect against accidental edge touch means that having the digitiser/screen all the way to the edge of the device is a flaw in the design. 🤣

Yeah I wouldn’t mind some app guidelines that say no requirement to touch the edges of the screen, keep everything useful away from the edge with some padding

And then you could set the phone to ignore those touches so close to the edge
