Pandemic-era eviction postponements and federal assistance programs have expired, leaving renters vulnerable to the eviction filings that have dramatically increased nationwide. Where I live, you can only (legally) increase rent by something like 4% per year. But if the price increase is within the legal limit, and the tenant doesn’t want to (or can’t) pay the new price, they either willingly move or are forcibly removed from the premises when they don’t pay.
