what is the solution then? iMessage become an open platform?
an idiot with internet connection.

they charge you PER PAGE??!
or other printer
the way you phrase it I thought your brother is a laser jet lol
I mean, when asked for something like this and the quick answer was Everything, you’d wonder if the OP meant the voidtools’ file search software ‘Everything’ or just… everything. At least provide a quick explanation of the usage, 1 sentence is usually enough.
RadioGarden as well
the API isn’t free, corporation use for navigation paid huge amount to Google for their maps.
and also from

Don’t know about lemmy, but on kbin you can go to /d/lemmy.world to see what appears to be something like a frontpage of lemmy.world.
This is exactly what I’m talking about, still a little janky maybe because the activitypub sites (Kbin, Lemmy, Mastodon) don’t work quite the same? Maybe if it’s between the same–what’s the term? software?–like kbin to kbin can be more seamless.
Hope Lemmy can implement something similar in the future
yes, that’s what i was curious about, it seems there isn’t a seamless way to do this yet
yes, that’s what’s I’ve been using, and I know I can see posts from all instances if I just browse All instead of Local
what I’m kind of looking for (and wondering) is that a way to… uh, like, check? on another instance, and see what hot posts are trending there just on their front page without getting mixed and competing for places in /All
so for example, I’m here on lemmy.world, and after browsing a while I got curious on what’s trending on sh.itjust.works, so I go to shi.tjust.works and I can see all the currently hot posts only on shit just works without me getting logged out because I have no account on shitjustworks.
in lack of better words, maybe emulating (or simulating?) a ‘centralized’ feel, ya feel me?
two movies came to me pretty vividly,
Spirited Away (2001), no-face is pretty scary even now, but the scene that disturbs me is at the beginning when Chihiro came back and find her parents have turned into pigs…
MirrorMask (2005), fittingly I watched this when I was sick with high fever and for so long I thought this movie was a fever dream, it haunted me for days until my fever subsides. I don’t remember anything about the plot, just that the atmosphere and aesthetic are nauseating
Playing it makes me realize I really can’t multitask (aiming for enemies and shooting to rhythm) lol
I imagine people are gonna abuse it for posting highly controversial takes that’s borderline immoral if not illegal… People already do even with associated username, imagine if it’s untraceable (by regular users) back to you. The nazis are gonna come out en masse, both who are trolling and actually serious. Seems like a moderation nightmare.
What about Detroit? I’m not even remotely near US and I see a lot of stereotype about Detroit
Nah man, my friend plays GTA and the next morning he got hit by a bicycle, that’s very dangerous
I don’t have Steam Deck but I have experience with UConnect, and it’s easily the worst 3rd party launcher out of the others. Constantly saying that I have no internet connection despite it working very well, I can’t even launch games because of it.
more niche / specific communities are just starting here but on reddit they’re already thriving. I’ll visit reddit from time to time to keep up with the latest thing in those, though my time there has been cut significantly.
in other hand, I really wish we could stop with reddit-related questions in this community… ask those in /c/reddit instead
yes, I mean derivatives of those “softwares”–is that the right term? I mean, lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, lemmy.one for examples are servers / instances, but they’re in the same “family”, which is Lemmy. Same thing with kbin, there are kbin.social, karab.in, forum.fail are the instances of the same kbin “family”
for now I see that link aggregator & discussion model (reddit-like) “software” is Lemmy and Kbin
I wonder if there are other softwares beside those two. Though for now I think it’s… sufficient ? if the reddit post discredit lemmy, then do they provide the way to kbin instead? if not, does it matter if the admin or dev of main lemmy software and instance have differing views in life? would it affect the other lemmy servers as well?
in other words, can the main lemmy devs affect the other instances / servers due to their problematic worldview ? or will it be contained to the servers that they maintain ? How much “independence” do each of these servers have ?
that’s probably very far in the future
someone is still gonna hold the power anyway
