The good news is that Biden is president this time, not trump. Plus the immunity for protecting democracy by ruthlessly enforcing election integrity

I posted twice, automod got one of them, but the other was gloriously empowering. Can recommend 8/10 Edit: I’m definitely a lurker though. We have value and votes, and are important to the ecosystem!
I’m a big fan of Khan’s efforts, but I don’t know that I’m ready to judge Harris for not giving her a full-throated defense. Her campaign is extraordinarily disciplined and focused in their topics and messaging, and digressing to FTC appointments could easily not be advantageous. I hope Harris wins and Khan is even more empowered for the sake of our country, but the crap of FPTP reality is that Harris simply Has to win
I’m absolutely stressed. I already voted, which didn’t help at all. I might need to unplug and dissociate for a few weeks just to get over 5 hours of sleep in a go
Locally, yes. Solar (and wind) energy isn’t uniform in timing or location, so when there’s too much of it relative to consumption, there needs to be a profitable way to use it rather than just dumping it into resistive heating or letting the panels wear out faster at open circuit. Desalination is a pretty good idea since places with high solar resources also tend to be poorer in water resources. The challenge is the capital costs of desalination plants and competition with existing water sources - water rights are a giant ratfuck by themselves. I think it’ll make sense to build desalination plants that can absorb excess energy generation, but if there’s even political will for it, they’ll take a lot of time to build up
Juggalos are surprisingly decent, given their image. I may not be down with the clown, myself, but they’re alright
NY Dem leadership really crapped the bed in 2022, losing seats they shouldntve. I suppose this election will show if they got their act together
Did they at least give you a cut of the spend? Maybe that should be a rule - 10% of the money spent on political ad buys is distributed evenly to all the poor schmucks who have to get bombarded by them!
I voted for it. Seems the best way to avoid electing extremists. Some 30% of polled respondents say it’s too confusing, but I think they’ll figure it out
If it isn’t soon, we may get president Vance…
His handlers have convinced him that the more people see of him, the less they like him. Trumpists always make up whatever they want to think he means anyways. So it’s good strategy - I just can’t believe that this is the government that we deserve.
He seems tired, doesn’t he?

I thought that too, but saw this:
As a PC player, I’m glad our hardware cousins get to play 1.6 - it’s a good update and ConcernedApe again going above and beyond. What I’m most excited for though is that this may mean Haunted Chocolatier gets back into development. Fields of Mistria did a good job scratching the itch before I ran out of Early Access content, but I’m really looking forward to seeing what Barrone comes up with in his next game
It was such obvious bait, I was a bit shocked that he took it!
“cautious optimism!” I expect theft in GA and MI, WI, MN to hold blue; but PA has me worried
That describes my family. We’ve done Airbnb and VRBO, but now pretty much stick to hotels. You know what you’re getting, price is competitive, to bdint have to wash your own bedding, and a lot of hotel workers are unionized. That’s all in addition to the awareness that every Airbnb house could be a home for someone who needs it. I won’t be sad if the Airbnb model folds and helps the housing market regain a bit of sanity
I dunno - the timing was right after the RNC and Vance being locked in. Vance didn’t broaden the ticket appeal because they thought Trump had the election in the bag. The timing might not have been strategic but it worked out pretty damn well!
If this shift is both A)right and B) representative across states, Harris is looking at over 400 electoral votes on Tuesday. I feel crazy just typing that
