The place isnt being built because residents of other buildings are currently using the empty lot for free parking and the building was taller than others in this neighborhood. NIMBYism killed this building, not some flaw in the design.

So don’t rent that specific condo if you have a car. It is supposed to be an affordable development and cars are expensive. Many people who need affordable housing the most don’t own a car and the land close to transit and bike lanes should be prioritized for them instead of cars.
People who are pro housing devleopment could protest by setting up a tent for each unit that wasn’t built, to help visualize the number of people pushed away from housing because our shiny metal boxes are somehow more important.
Why does another country with a private health care system even have a say in Canada’s mostly socialized healthcare? Are they worried if they make it the 51st state, the other 50 will demand healthcare?
Pay very close attention to how politicians respond to these threats and vote accordingly.
I could see him supporting it while running for a second term. I doubt he would want to do more than 2 terms and it would be an excellent parting gift to Canadians. It would be great if we could have leaders who recognize the issues with some voters feeling like they have to vote strategically and try to fix that with electoral reform. Many politicians would rather stick to the game they know of being better than the other candidiate than learn how to make competitive platforms and push for new solutions.
I don’t think he wants to do anything at all with electoral reform given the prevous track record of the liberals promising it and the eagerness for conservatives to find slander. If asked my guess is he would give a “this isn’t Canada’s biggest issue right now” type response.
Strong mayor powers, like telling Toronto they can’t build their streets with bike lanes for their people and a greener, safer future.
I met a lady on the brink of homelessness, she was complaining about cost of living, rent, healthcare, and access to other services. She then proceeded to praise Elon and Trump for exposing the corruption and fighting for normal people and she wishs we had strong politicians like that up here.
People are delusional.
Probably helps a little bit in keeping some insects off the tiger as well.
Trump crashing the economy, Trump dying from whatever, Vance taking over and taking credit for any kind of recovery sounds almost like its planned.
The problem is, half of the cons supporters also idolize trump. They look at the state of things down there and think “that’s what Canada needs”
Whenever I call 911, my phone notifies my that blocked numbers will be able to call for a little bit after dialing 911.
I used to set my phone as a private number. I’d have to call customers sometimes to confirm times or discuss jobs, but most customers didn’t need access to my direct number and we’d rather them contact the office than contact me directly.
User choose to install their own software, meaning its now the softwares fault the car killed a pedestrian.
I’m all for open source but even closed source profit based systems haven’t mastered self driving, this seems a little bit ridiculous to use on a public roadway.
Would a protest that involves protesters blocking the parade from moving result in an american tiananmen square?
Pretty sure the current US administration used the hard and fast play and look how thats going. Shouldn’t need any more proof than that to do the right thing this election and keep PP out of office.
Healthcare profits go up, what else would be the definition of a great america?
My theory is Trump wants Canada’s border more secure so border agents can return anyone fleeing the states and his rule back into his control.
Any protest could be considered blocking parts of the city. Any protest that doesn’t inconvenience someone or something is often ineffective.
Or “your research results will hurt my profits, this media campaign will slander your credibility. We’ll do our own research, with blackjack and hookers, and bribed results”
