It’s all the fault of anteeefa! /s
It’s all the fault of anteeefa! /s
This really is accelerating.
Thanks, good to hear!
Wow thanks I had not realized this.
Afaik Blink is a fork of WebKit. It’s good there is some independent development but also safari is closed ecosystem.
Thanks that is what I was curious about. So good news!
How did India get like this? I imagine it’s the TV and news and now internet sites that pushed a large potion of the population into this extreme right wing?
Do LLM or that AI image stuff run on CUDA?
The whole thing is shit, starting with how they tell them to leave for no reason. And the you can see the cop pick off the last one for no good reason. They can bully and harass people however they want to create and escalate these kinds of situations.
Those cops aren’t just the usual ACAB they are outright fascists.
Do they require a phone number? I tried to sign up to gitlab (just to post bug reports!) but they required a phone number (which is linked to government ID).
This is kinda scary. Sanctions are one thing, but do you really want your internet provider to investigate people and act like an intelligence service for the state?
It’s a bit worrying that the journalist doesn’t point out that it’s ALL chrome. Safari, Edge, they all use the chrome engine. A complete monopolization of web features. Most recently we’ve seen the problems with that in trying to ditch good innovations like jpegXL.
True. But I’m thinking a bit in terms of “solar punk”. Batteries and fuel cells require high tech materials and very complex global production lines for manufacture and supply of raw materials or instruments etc. It’s a bit of a house of cards. So I’m trying to think how you can “democratize” the base of a local economy. Genetically engineering plants for bio fuel is one way. That allows third world countries or local cities to maintain civilization even if global trade collapses.
They are not really in style anymore in germany either.
I have prepared the sacrifices to Nyctelios so I should be good
They always report the facts but frame them emotionally starting with the headline. They don’t need totalitarian control of the media, they only need to convince 5-10% to get total control. That’s how propaganda and corruption works in democratic countries.
We need banks that specifically are meant to allow the workers of a company to buy their company and turn it into a collective. Not that the workers can sell the shares but they own it in the sense that they can democratically determine how profits are spend and what managers are hired / elected. Just a loan which just requires printing a little more money which we do all the time.
That would solve so many inefficiencies and amoralities in the current economy.
Fuck Stoltenberg, he’s a vile war monger. He’s one of the architects of the Ukraine war.
And he’s an idiot for even taking the bullshit trump is vomiting up serious. I mean really, this is clearly total bullshit. Taking it seriously actually helps trump. His base loves him for this shit and how libs freak out about it.
Thanks! I’m more concerned about the social democratic “leftists” though, ever since the “third way” it seems they have been completely captured all around the globe. Functionally this created the fertile ground for the fascism we see today. I’m not well educated how this ideological change is distributed, I can only infer it / speculate from the effects.
Geography? Hey wait, you’re trying to trick me! If I explain the differences I loose the debate!
My point is that from Russia’s point of view (true or not) NATO is a hostile military alliance that has slowly been encircling Russia for the past decades. Russia’s protests were ignored so after the 2014 coup supported by literal Nazis (from their point of view) they started to use military interventions. US / EU / NATO did double down on arming Ukraine with weapons so they saw themselves “forced” to invade.
I’m not excusing any of this - but these choices and events made this war predictable and inevitable. I’d go so far and say that if Putin hadn’t invaded Ukraine he would have been deposed by the militaristic powers he cultivated. It’s like poking a bear and then crying foul when he eats your face.
Thus my example about China arming Mexico. The US would react in the exact same way, and we have ample historical evidence for that. And it’s not my point that this excuses anything, it’s that these things are predictable so we do carry a responsibility to deescalate, demand negotiations so Ukraine gets their land back while Russia gets security guarantees. But judging by the complete troll answer in Tuckers Putin interview that isn’t in the cards right now.
But there was no resistance to this geopolitical “gambit”. And now everyone is presenting a completely false version of history.
