In modern installs you’ve got to jump through a few hoops to be able to delete system32, because normally it simply won’t let you or anything running do that.

Save face? You wouldn’t need to… You get fired for doing shit like that.
Keep in mind… I first installed Linux at Mandrake 7.1 (bit of digging will tell you how long ago that was) - it really did take me decades to become comfortable with it… What forced my hand was a few things, dealing with we servers remotely, writing code for them (via windows), and then android was what tipped the balance.
If I’m using a Linux like operating system in my pocket, coding for Linux remotely then what the hell am I dojng still running windows?
Install Linux, get frustrated with it, reinstall windows and live with it - repeat for over a decade until you realise the last time you installed Linux you didn’t get frustrated and have been using it for the past two years.
I’m not saying “there’s no need to do it”, more if you’re in a panel and you haven’t checked for dead then when people are standing in the dock explaining to a judge why you ended up crispy they’ll be saying its your own fault.
If the guy working inside the meter doesn’t test for dead, lock out and tag out… He has no business working in there in the first place.
Nah… I don’t think that’s for me 👍
I don’t have free time to start a project like that, removing ads from an apk is trivial.
I’m currently running infinity, seems OK… There’s still a handful of features I’d like.
I am definitely not going to run Sync with adverts and I’m not paying the amount they’re asking, neither am I going to go with subscription based.
If sync halved their ad free version, I’d probably pull the trigger - failing that, I’ll eventually just hack up their client and remove the ads myself.
Is it just me or does Sync’s pricing seem… Exorbitantly high?
Run your own vpn, and only allow access to your services remotely if they are coming through that vpn.
Now you’ve shifted some of the security over to how secure your vpn server’s authentication is.
Agreed… A lot of the complexities don’t necessarily need to go, but a way to abstract them away, if you want to, would be much more attractive.
The less hoops people have to jump through the better.
Seems OK, hoping Sync for Lemmy client adds a bit more polish, most current clients seem unfinished or a bit janky in some ways.
Ultimately, it’ll just take me time to adjust to the new way of things and more users/content.
The only way I’ll be going back to reddit is if I can use Sync, and that definitely isn’t happening so I’ll have to adjust.
Regardless of what has or hasn’t happened… I really want to know what the hell congress were on about when talking of “crashed UAP’s with “biologics”” - what fucking biologics? Human test pilots? Funky new biological components? Aliens?!
I hate that it’s all cloak and dagger… Just fucking spill the beans about what the hell you’re on about damn it!
