If you’re stretching yourself to get any phone, then yeah, diminishing returns for forking out $800+ for a flagship.
That being said I’ve owned multiple phones in each price category, and can say that the best phones are unfortunately among the most expensive.

In order to actually get the power menu to pop up, you hold the power button + volume up. You can switch the behavior so that a long press can either be the assistant or the power menu, but otherwise not fully configurable. Feels like that would be an easy win to let us do whatever we want with it.
On Reddit, I was mainly subscribed to a few niche subreddits. By reddit’s standards, that’s still like 100k subscribers. But over here, even though there might be 1000 people subscribed to those same niche communities, the 90-9-1 rule still applies. Either the community has one super-spammy power user trying to boost life into the community, or there’s just no one actually posting anything.
I’m getting enough of a fix to stay on Lemmy and wade out the peace and quiet, but I do long for the engagement of 50k+ users on a truly niche topic. My willingness to stay on Lemmy has been helped by me starting to re-utilize off-site forums specifically to those niches. But I can totally understand how it just feels dead to a lot of the Reddit exodus.
Funny enough, I’ve been looking into supporting my local retro game store after I found out that a PS1 was $70 on their shelf, and most PS1 games were under $10.
The only thing holding me back has been the god-awful ergonomics of the original controllers. So the thought of using my PS5 controller has re-piqued my interest.

True, although my gripe is on the principality that they could charge $10 for the replacement parts and still make a nice profit. Even when handling each brand’s controllers with the utmost care, I’ll end up spending $60-$90 in replacement parts for a joycon before I need to replace an Xbox controller, and to add insult to injury, the Xbox controller costs less than a Joycon!
Not sure if this counts as a feature, but; more expensive base hardware, less expensive peripherals. I’d legitimately pay like $400 for a top of the line handheld system as long as I could buy a second pair of controllers for less than $50.
I legitimately haven’t touched my Switch in like 3 years because of controller drift, and I just can’t bring myself to pay $80 for something that seems like it should cost $40. So my PS5 and XSX have pulled my attention away completely.
TotK nearly convinced me to jump back in, but I ultimately decided against it since it didn’t seem worth $150 to resume playing the Switch.
Windows 10 as long as possible. I think my hardware may support Windows 11, but there’s no benefit to me upgrading until I need to.

But I think that there’s a lot more nuance to it than what you’ve said. I personally don’t defend Threads, but I do defend Threads federating. I’m on Lemmy specifically because I don’t want to be on Threads. But that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want to connect with Threads content and users.
To clarify, my post is trying to highlight that Threads will exist with or without us. If they want to join the Fediverse, and we refuse and wall their garden for them, that does nothing to stop their growth and profit immensely. However, we lose the opportunity to connect with their users and content, and we lose any chance we have to convince them off of Threads. If they remain federated, we can offer the identical content they’re used to while promoting privacy and self reliance.

It’s not the company I’m interested in connecting with, it their users. If my friend opts to join Threads, I won’t be holding him against Meta’s collaboration with Rohingya’s genocide, but would love to still be able to interact directly with their content (and vice versa).
