I as well use a Anker powerconf camera and it’s fantastic… But you will need a windows machine if you want to modify firmware settings on it as their control app runs in windows. It does seem that once you modify those settings they are persistent within the hardware itself though and once you move it back to the Linux machine it should all be preserved.
Of course it’s possible someone has already closed that gap out already or maybe the app runs in wine.
It really is both breathtakingly stupid and alarmingly revealing all at the same time.
I mean I’m all for old guys flexing old guy knowledge. But I honestly feel sort of stupid for even trying to correct this one because it seems so fruitless.
Software lineage does have some interesting things in it and one of my favorite infographics is the Linux variations family tree they have over on Wikipedia. But I don’t see any inherent value in tracking where browsers came from and who begot who from the biblical sense.

But now a days you really just need to decide what is important to you and find the right browser. Performance, compatibility, privacy, customization, integration… Etc… there is a browser for pretty much any application you can think of and generally speaking you are going to have some massive give and takes between them. No such thing as a perfect browser, though Links probably got the closest. 😆
That’s because it’s not true. Firefox was first called firebird for a brief time… Otherwise its most closely related to the Mozilla browser… Netscape and mosaic aren’t even related to each other… I don’t know what this guy is smoking.
It wasn’t, this guy hasn’t a clue… Its original name was Firebird and they changed it to Firefox at version 3’s release. You could argue that it is somehow related to the Mozilla browser since it came from a related team but the Mozilla Foundation was also responsible for SeaMonkey as well.

HAMAS build hospitals and schools with Iranian money… not to provide for the Palestinian people but to ensure they can wrap themselves in human body armor as they build caches and facilitation networks which is 100% in violation of international law and is not just criminal but utterly despicable.
Meanwhile these groups and countries have never been shy at announcing that their only stated goal is the genocidal ethnic cleansing of Israelis and the destruction of the state of Israel.
Who would have thought that all those years ago when Jordan and Egypt decided to take military action against a displaced refugee encampment all of those years ago that we would be at this point.
Or when they did it the second time…

What exactly is your point then? You think that HAMAS should be allowed to get away with their crimes because by fighting them it would create a second wave?
I’m sorry but not good enough. HAMAS teaches Palestinian children that their greatest achievements in life is to sacrifice themselves in the great jihad. They wrap children in suicide vests and march them around on TV.
Destroying HAMAS is protecting Palestinians. Collateral loss of life is a tragic cost of war… But the mission here is clear… destroy HAMAS, do not let them flee to their rat holes. HAMAS will always attempt to maximize civilian casualties. When will they release the hostages they are holding? These aren’t prisoners of war… They are civilians, non combatants… Why don’t we just start with HAMAS releases the innocent people they have taken hostage?

True it’s not in production but no one is destroying the chemical weapons stored there, frankly it’s because they are so incredibly dangerous and in poor condition that they cannot be safely handled. The weapons are still there though, all of the various nerve and blister agents and all of their precursory materials.

No we shouldn’t have been there, but it’s not like the lies about WMDs were farfetched… Saddam had stockpiles of chemical weapons and had already produced proven warheads to deliver chemical weapons on various platforms including their infamous SCUD platform.

This is correct… If there are any Palestinians left after this they will all collectively be safer once HAMAS is eradicated.
And despite all of this, the Palestinians are still safer in Israel than they would be in Jordan or Egypt who would have every man, woman, and child seeking refuge shot at the borders.
You do realize that an enormous swath of Israelis are of middle eastern descendency… Not to mention from pretty much every other nation in the world.
So since you Americans love to assign colors to people instead of seeing them as people… What color do you think Israelis are?
I will actually take a moment to explain this to you since I feel bad that most of you have had no exposure to the realities of conflict and American media is hardly reputable.
The truth of war is that there are always collateral deaths. This is probably the most important reason why war should be avoided. Until someone creates a magic bullet that can sort combatants from non combatants this will always remain a truth.
If you care for the people you love, you don’t go rape, murder, and behead your neighbor and their children.
The collateral loss of Palestinians is an absolute tragedy. HAMAS combatants fleeing and hiding in civilian populations is the travesty though.
But there are no mental gymnastics here, many islamic groups and Arab nations are on record stating that their absolute goal is the total annihilation of Israel and the genocide of Israelis. Israel has no such message or stance.
If Israel wanted to ensure the genocide of the Palestinians they would have to do nothing more than to expel the Palestinians from their country and to push them to Jordan and Egypt who would shoot every Palestinian at their borders.
Israel is a nuclear power, if it’s aim was genocide then this would have been the shortest war in history.
