I can’t tell, is this an angsty teenager take against YouTube Music.

Not the guy you are asking but I think I could give some insight. I don’t think it’s going to “fail” in every regard but it’s going to decline significantly and become an echo chamber for the extremeist types that are driving everyone away. After all the more reasonable and normal active types have left the extremists will likely turn on each other over very minute details that don’t exactly correlate to their specific world view and it will likely turn into an all out brawl.
That being said Reddit is very likely to pull more stupid anti-user bullshit and send a few more waves of users to Lemmy and spike the numbers some more at which point hopefully has all their mod tools figured out and communities get solved to actually allow for niches to be usable.
The success of Lemmy lies entirely on a perfect timing of Reddit fucking up again before the infighting becomes too bad and people returning to Reddit warn people away from going to lemmy
MacOS is a literal dumpster fire. The vast majority of their haters just got an immediate obsolete call. and Windows 11 has been absolutely amazing. I can’t tell if you are being satirical
What happened?
Why wouldn’t you?
Windows 11 is pretty awesome though
Same, also what day of the week
All I see is sources that say Windows is less problematic and less expensive long and short term. I found one source that says otherwise called JAMF and that actually turned out to be, well, as they put it “Helping organizations manage and secure an Apple experience that end users love and organizations trust.” So I’m gonna have to omit this guy for bias
Bro they don’t even have touchscreen support
I was supporting MacOS and Windows systems in an extremely vertical stability situation and I honestly never had to touch the Windows machines that were cobbled together parts computers. All the Mac’s were a constant house of cards waiting to topple. Coming drives constantly for last minute hail Mary solutions, crashing issues that could never be explained without any explanation or hint to what the issues were. Sending systems back and forth for repair. Fuck it, avoid MacOS at all costs
It’s also become less and less stable over the years
When people talk about “Google stealing your data” they are referring to non personal data related to things you buy so that advertisers can target their market better, they aren’t like trading secrets and tracking where you go so they can jump out and I dunno, scare you or some shit? No it’s just for as revenue stuff. They aren’t even serving you more ads they are just serving you more accurate ones because those will generate more revenue from advertisers. Nothing is shared with them like your name or address or even your age really (just a general age group)
Is this the same as Plex’s ‘watch together’ feature?
Any one of things specifically? Those seem to make sense if you have ever used a platform line discord
What does their privacy policy say then?
Do you have some kind of proof of this massive accusation?
What has discord done to you in the past?
No this was all merged into YouTube many years ago after it was announced long before that they were ending it. This is Lemmy so everyone is just gonna pretend Google just announced this and make a big deal out of it because “Google bad”
The way I see it, things have been filtered down to a design concept of “simplify until a toddler can figure it out” and that’s been followed by so many designs that everyone has overlooked all the drawbacks of designing in that fashion. People have become wildly content with simple apps that lack personal configuration or extended functionality because users now lack so much basic knowledge or expect crazy things to the point that if they come across any small issue they will call technical support, leave a crazed email, or complain loudly on social media long before they every actually considered solving the issue themselves or even checking online to see how others arrived at the issue. I kinda feel like I’m just rambling right now but for a long time society, at least here in the US, normalized and and removed negative connotations from the term “computer illiterate” to the point that it’s become not only the norm but the design goal.
Future isn’t ARM it’s Risc-V. Apple just learned this and they are attempting to adapt.
