Don’t put the glizzy down the toaster slot, dawg. It deserves better, and so do you.

I appreciate the insight. Just curious, do you have a link to things I should be disabling in group policy?
Typically I’m not a fan of modifying that much especially registry wise, as I feel this is a cause for many people’s problems, but I’m not uncomfortable making GP changes if they make sense.
I’m currently using W11 Pro activated with massgravel scripts and I’ve got DNS level blocking set up on my network, although I’m not sure how well that does at blocking telemetry. It’s my second line ad block primarily.
I really don’t see the issue with W11. It works fine. As did 10, and 8.1. I’ve not encountered any ads or many of the other shitty things that are constantly reported on.
You’d find this on a necrophiliac’s resume too
Gotta get it off the streets somehow. I’ve spent untold thousands of dollars buying similar highly contaminated buds and destroying them via combustion and lately vaporization.
The battle rages on. My mom told me to never be a quitter. Good luck and godspeed to those of you fighting the good fight.
Isn’t that the same scenario that led to the massive Beirut explosion a few years back?
It was a hospital IT job so we couldn’t do everyone on the same schedule. My estimate would be 40% stayed on traditional M-F 8s, 30% on M-Th 10s, and 30% on Tu-F 10s. Quiet Monday was nice, quiet Friday really dragged, especially after lunch. I was way more productive working on Monday vs Friday.
The hybrid schedule worked pretty good for coverage, we also had staggered start times so there was always someone around M-F 6a-6p. Tuesday through Thursday was packed with meetings as that’s when you really had 100% of everyone working.
We did four 10s at my last job, rotating every quarter whether you had off Monday or Friday. Personally I much preferred working the quieter Monday to the boring Friday. Tuesday became the new Monday as that’s when everyone was back in office. I didn’t feel the quiet Monday when you had half-ish the staff working was too bad, but the quiet Fridays really dragged. Quiet Monday was a nice ramp up to Tuesday, I got a lot of shit done on those Mondays.
I’d say there is a difference to which day you choose off. It doesn’t seem like there would be a difference but I definitely felt it.
I had this on my “to play” list for years and finally did a full play through as the first game on my new OLED monitor. It holds up incredibly well so many years later. The AI, sound design, and lighting really carry the game, and when I went back to watch Alien I realized how true to the source material it was. 9/10 game for me, had my heart racing numerous times but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I could only do an hour or two a day but wow, very glad I pushed myself to finish it. Probably the most fun I’ve had with a game’s AI since STALKER’s A-Life or FEAR’s AI.
The whole argument for legalizing weed was that it would cripple the cartels.
First I’ve heard of this, and I’d consider myself a pretty big follower of drugs and drug culture. Who thought weed was lucrative for cartels? The plant you can easily grow, and is challenging to transport?
Calling it the “whole argument” is very disingenuous. People have the right to get high.
Then we have to legalize heroin? Fentanyl? Anything else?
Yeah, all of it. You can legally buy chemical analogs of just about any class of drugs because the laws simply can’t keep up. Prohibition isn’t working, and it hasn’t ever. What you’re seeing today is a result of prohibition (and prescription painkillers in the 00s, I’d argue).
The problem won’t be fixed by making things illegal. What, are you going to make opiates more illegal or something? Education and learning how to have a proper relationship with mind altering substances is the way forward, IMO.
Shoutout to erowid.org.
Assuming you’re in the US:
It’s called THCa and is the same weed you’ve been smoking your whole life. You can get ounces to your door in the mail 100% legally thanks to a poorly written Farm Bill.
The farm bill only states a certain % of THC is illegal. Well, THC isn’t on the plants in large quantities - that only exists once you heat the cannabis to isomerize it from THCa to THC. It’s not delta 8 or some weird synthetic cannabinoid, weed has always been THCa before it’s heated.
There are dispensaries all over Texas these days selling great weed with this loophole. Texas, of all places.
Why would it? It’s the bulkiest, smelliest, lowest cost drug there is. Mexican weed sucked ass too. Moving cocaine or especially ultra high strength opiate analogs is significantly more lucrative.
Making things illegal doesn’t work. Not alcohol, not drugs, not abortion. It needs to be addressed by education. The current just say no abstinence approach leaves people ill prepared for when they encounter drugs. Our relationship with drugs is fucked, currently. Altering our state of consciousness with drugs is a fundamental part of being human.
I really enjoy Event Horizon, especially with the 40K theory in mind.
The main difference is the GPU and target output resolution, the second is storage size. CPU is identical. If Microsoft can figure out how to run MSFS (including MSFS 2024) on both, so can others. It’s not a potato, it’s an HD console vs the XSX at 4K.
Some consider it a hassle, others of us obsessively enjoy manually downloading and sorting our files into our folder structure.
I’ve got a collection going back to a 128k MP3 from a Napster download in 2000. Hundreds of gigabytes of lossless music.
Bandcamp is great, but I use Redacted for those I can’t easily find.
Time to rewatch The Wire season 2.
I was always taught that the towel’s final role is to abrade and collect the dirt/grime/skin that has been loosened by showering, but that wasn’t washed away (which iirc is mostly just the skin and oily grime, not dirt or other large particulates).
This is nasty to me. Do you not scrub yourself in the shower? Like, if you have dirty hands, and wash them in the sink, you can dry your hands on a white towel and it should not get dirty. Same for your body except you usually have more scrubbing tools to exfoliate your skin and remove the dirt so you should be even cleaner come dry time.
I don’t know that I’d call my used towel “clean” per se, but it’s certainly not dirty. It’s not doing any cleaning or removal of anything, just patting up water.
Just do the cheap unlimited personal plan and hook up a shit load of external HDDs to your PC. I have a system where my NAS syncs to my PC which syncs to Backblaze so I can sorta hack my way into unlimited NAS backup for $10/mo.
3-2-1 backup where the primary source of data is the NAS, on site backup is desktop PC external HDDs, off site backup is Backblaze.
Just got an email from HaveIBeenPwned.com stating 31 million logins were leaked. Email address, username, and bcrypt hashed passwords were obtained.
Edit: probably should have read the article before posting
