In my experience with the automotive industry. AC systems leak frequently and it is very common for the leak to be so small that it is not always possible to find the source.
So the majority of the time a fluorescent dye is added to the system and it is recharged with refrigerant to help find the source when it gets low again.
It’s common to have a leak so slow and undetectable that no one notices a system is low on refrigerant until a year later when it is summer again.
Also, auto parts stores sell cans of refrigerant so anybody can just recharge a leaking system, which is often cheaper than actually fixing the leak. So these AC systems are just constantly leaking refrigerant and being recharged.
I wouldn’t be surprised if AC systems in buildings are handled similarly.
Even if a law is made that a failed part must be identified before the system can be recharged, the technician who can’t find a leak is going to just pick a part (randomly or educated guess) to replace if he can’t find the leak.
Russia invaded Ukraine. You know… like the Nazis did in WW2.
Russia is playing the part of the Nazis.
If Musk really wants to prevent escalation then he should help the US and it’s allies stop Russia from invading other countries as they have been doing for decades.
Russia is starting total war. Musk is helping them continue by preventing efforts to stop Russia.
Nope, Starlink was already in use. Musk used his position as CEO of Starlink to cut off service to Ukraine. But only long enough to interrupt a counter attack on the Russian fleet. Once the opportunity had passed he had it turned back on.
His intentions are obvious.
The Ukraine military was already using starlink. Starlink agreed to provide their service to the Ukraine military as a US military contractor with the US paying the bill.
So they can do that because they have already done that.
The US has committed to defending and replenishing Starlink because they’ve been doing that by protecting the antennas and replacing them as they get attacked.
Again. Starlink already agreed to be used in Ukraine and at the time that Musk interrupted service to the Ukrainian military it had been in use for a long time.
Musk only interrupted service long enough to prevent the counter attack on Russia. Then agreed to turn it back on after the opportunity for a counter attack had passed.
Seems pretty obvious that Musk stepped in to help Russia as a traitor to the US.
What does this race bait have to do with Elon Musk?
We are calling him a traitor for having Starlink turned off in Ukraine to protect Russia from a counter attack.
I know this is kind of off topic but I wanted to point out that the refrigerant that escapes from air conditioners when they leak or are thrown away, is a bigger contributor to climate change than the electricity they use.
Ya these responses are making some really weird assumptions. Don’t let them gaslight you.
This is a really weird assumption that he has some hidden pedophile sexual urges just because he doesn’t want to see someone’s genitals.
I don’t understand why you assume it’s sexual.
Seems like my opinion is an unpopular one here but here goes:
If the tables were turned and it was an adult revealing too much of their body to a child and making the child uncomfortable it would be inappropriate.
If someone goes out in public naked under a trench coat and exposes themselves to people who don’t want to see their genitals it’s sexual assault.
I realize different countries have different social norms but just because a scandanavian country is ok with nudity doesn’t mean that the rest of the world is or has to be. You have your own social norms based on where you live and at least in the US, certain body parts make the majority uncomfortable when visible. I don’t see this as right or wrong, just local customs.
If social norms were to change to accept nudity then that would change the situation. Some of these comments downplay the fact that it makes you uncomfortable just because nudity is accepted in a scandanavian country. Which is like saying: “In middle eastern countries woman must be fully covered at all times so you should live by that custom”, which is the opposite side of the same spectrum of acceptable nudity.
It’s my opinion that we all have to coexist and that means taking other peoples feeling into consideration to some degree. Even if those feelings are formed from social norms that change depending on where you are.
To answer your question, I don’t think it is good to talk directly to the daughter and tell her to change the way she dresses but I would let her mother know it makes me uncomfortable and try to find a compromise.
Ya, op got it figured out thx to you that’s the important part. I just wanted to add a little clarity for the poor bastard that will come across this post after googling “Ford Focus coolant leak”.
I’ve only seen bypass valves that block off one of the two heater core hoses to prevent flow but not both. Same idea as a thermostat blocks only one side of your radiator to prevent flow. So even though coolant isn’t flowing, it is heating up and pressurizing. There may be vehicles out there with an unusual design that blocks both inlet and outlet hoses to the heater core. But this isnt one of them.
Not trying to argue, just trying to share some of my knowledge as a former Ford tech.
Even with that design it would leak coolant. The bypass just prevents the flow of coolant but it should always be primed with coolant even when it isn’t flowing.
“Both sides are the same!”
