I’m down to talk out what is a just tax, what is unfair, what the taxes should go to once collected, but I think Libertarians are too hooked on think tank propaganda to decide something for themselves.

That’s how I do it. Mainly YouTube and the eMails. But some of the bands I most listen to are more indie/obscure, so they play to their fans more than people on the level of Metalica and Taylor Swift.

A lot of farmers use farm hands from Mexico with permits and a form of green card that allows them to get paid in American dollars during work seasons to bring back home, and get a path towards American citizenship than if they just entered the country with a passport or applied directly for a visa.

I don’t know if a lot of contractors do the same thing, but I wouldn’t be shocked. The labor is cheap and it kinda looks good for the camera. Adam Raguesa, a YouTube chef, has a good video on how farmers in the modern era grow the crops we eat on the table every day.

We can and we have for similar crimes. Loitering is a crime only for the poor, and then we send the homeless into camps and jails.

Well, seeing as 1/3 of Americans are brainwashed by mass media into following whatever hype train is set forth by the rich, I can see that. If their favorite corporate owned and ran “news” told them they didn’t need to eat, they would stop eating.

America is home to racist morons, has been since July 4th, 1776. Most of the Founding Fathers owned slaves, and the Senate and Electoral College were established to ease the slave owners/states that their “property” would remain theirs.

We’ve been a nation of hypocritical xenophobes who taught freedom and liberty while giving none of it to the majority, and every time we try to fix that they double down and make things worse. Not a single time has the US Government (or any government for that matter, but that’s more a “whatabout” in this topic) given people what they wanted freely, and peacefully.

If we wanted to get rid of brain dead morons, we would solved it in the Civil War and Reconstitution. Second chance was in the 1960s when we were breaking down the barriers. Instead we still placated to the racists because we didn’t want to be too mean to the racist, sexist morons who started the mess in the first place.

Vegans are more “consent” than focusing on the consumption.

Vegetarians eat honey and drink milk. Vegans don’t as they don’t feel that animals can consent to the actions being taken place on their body. It’s basically a form of “Can this animal agree to what is taking place?” question. If they can’t even answer a yes or no, then it’s a form of abuse.

Like how we consider that animals can’t consent to sexual acts. It’s wrong because we exert a force to them that they can’t even disagree with. Bestiality is obviously wrong, and I don’t think you’d find a lot of people who would disagree except those who perform it. But it’s weird that we view the killing and eating of them as normalized.

And I am saying this as someone who consumes meat. I fully acknowledge I am complicit, I just don’t defend my actions.

Stallman is often batshit insane, but when it comes to tech he knows what he’s saying.

I would trust a doctor when he says about something about my stomach, I wouldn’t trust them about astrophysics.

I would trust Stallman about how computers can be misused and mistreated, same as Cory Doctorow. I wouldn’t trust both about a small part of history, unless it was obvious or very well cited.

If you have enough money to have sway in your community or kingdom, you have enough money to start asking for favors and benefits. “I’ll give you this land, you give me something later.” “If I can guarantee enough grain for the next month, I can get a guarantee from you soon.”

You put someone into any power over others, someone wants that power, and some people are willing to do anything for that power.

Understandable. I’d greatly consider it (if I didn’t already turn in my mail-in ballot, and he offered to California) but the idea alone that I’d be giving my private info to “I am a massive fascist and enabler and funder of them” just so I can grift a grifter.

But the simple fact that even if I could give them what they demanded for payment, they would probably see a disabled, queer, poor person and go “Oh, well, you’re one of them so… Face the wall.”

I’d rather be a poverty-trapped queer in a red county as I am now, than sell my morals for money. That’s what people with the moral backbone of a chocolate eclair do.

Man I wish he would just… do something? Anything? Trump is running without issue despite being a criminal. Several fascists are colluding and acting if they win or lose.

It will take weeks to move forward, by then the election is over and certified by the House. Musk gets what he wants, justice isn’t done in time, and even if it gets to the courts, the courts are bought and sold to the highest bidder on lawyers.

That’s how you sound right now. Murder is bad, and I am opposed to it whenever its happening. Be it neighbors, countries, systemic, or individual. Sorry that being aginast to my tax dollars going to helping people be free from harm and helping people live better lives is somehow too much of a “single issue”.

Working with fascists gives fascists power. And fascists have money to give to centrists to move further right.

Why else would they not want money? It’s not like lives at home are in danger, the lives abroad clearly don’t matter much.
