Redhat linux, got it. lol.

I recommend disconnecting the HDD to prevent installing anything on it, then repair the boot / EFI / Grub issues, then reconnect the HDD. That way you know for certain all linux partitions are on the SSD.
I recommend using freetube: https://freetubeapp.io/
It’s a youtube desktop client, no tracking or ads and works perfectly on Linux.
Funny, but I’m on a tiling wm for a reason. I like things simple and effective. I don’t need or want HDR. :)
I’m on a tiling WM. If I want a specific feature, I make it happen.
I agree with everything you said. And Manjaro was the first Arch based distro I used years ago, but it’s not a good choice anymore for many reasons.
I’ve been using EndeavourOS for the past year or so, and Arch before that for many years. I haven’t had anything break in EndeavourOS even though I customize it a lot, (i3wm, polybar and other stuff) and I also play Steam games on this system (Nvidia GTX 1650 with no issues). You can install plasma-wayland-session
if you want wayland with KDE. I’d recommend EndeavourOS for a beginner because a lot of packages you want are in the AUR. Plus if you’re stuck on something, the Arch wiki will have the solution, because it’s specifically tailored to Arch. EndeavourOS is basically just an Arch installer.
Most likely a hardware issue. But we don’t have enough info. We don’t know it that user has successfully re-imaged that system or not.
If you’re not joking, I’d like to clarify that your friend’s computer not booting up after a CMOS battery failure, is not related to Manjaro, or any OS for that matter. But we don’t have enough info to correctly assume what the actual cause of the issue is, without troubleshooting.
Justin Frankel. Explains the chosen UI.
Arch on my desktop because I customize it to how I like and don’t care if something breaks (rarely does). And linux mint on my laptop because I need a more reliable distro when taking my laptop to work.
Thanks for posting this one, I didn’t know about retext. I’m using Obsidian, but it’s overkill if used as only a markdown editor. Retext is way better.
No it’s just one guy called Dev.
Conclusion: I now have a laptop and a RPI running 24/7 🤦♂️
Sounds like a win to me. lol
