Ironic that it’s what a lot of Star Wars fans love. Keep the universe surroundings consistent, but put a new story into the mix that has all the familiar stuff rumbling in the background.
It used to be that you could count on a Zack Snyder film at least looking good, even if the writing was vapid and his direction messy.
But that ended with Army of the Dead where he dropped longtime collaborrator Larry Fong and made himself DP. That movie was ugly as sin, and not in a way that I felt was intentional. With Rebel Moon, Snyder is acting as his own DP again.
