Russian troops stationed in Georgia’s breakaway province of South Ossetia have shot and killed a Georgian civilian near the line of control in what the Georgian authorities denounced as “the most heinous act.”
Question, Georgia apparently has an ok-ish military in the wake of the original invasion, why haven’t they launched a campaign to knock the Russians out while Putin’s tied down in Ukraine?
From what I’ve heard they want NATO and EU membership too, and being right next to Turkey means their position is pretty defensible in an article 5 scenario.
For one, Georgia is a very small country. Their army might be well funded but it isn’t large. They would likely not be able to win a campaign against Russia even now
