I’m going to leave this up for another week or so, since it seems to not be wide released yet.
I watched it at movie festival a month or so ago and I very much enjoyed it.
I had not seen any of the other movies by the director so I didn’t have any expectations whatsoever.
Emma Stone did an amazing job.
This movie looks terrible to me.
If you haven’t seen it, you can just watch it and then confirm or deny. In the meantime this comment is just fluff.
It’s not a statement on the content, just a subjective interpretation of the preview material.
It’s a fair point of view, just like I can say I’ve only heard good things about it without having seen it for myself.
I’ve seen the preview and it looks terrible. It’s not out yet. People share there thoughts about how a movie looks all the time.
I think you probably mean “It looks like I won’t like it.”
That way you aren’t making an objective claim about its quality.
Oh I didn’t know it’s already out. I think I only saw one teaser in the last few months. Love me some Yorgos. I’ll watch this asap and update this comment with my review.
Watched this last week. Great movie! Long but I wasn’t tired of it at all at the end. Improbably happy ending by Lanthimos standards. Super lavish sets, lots of entertaining scenes, a whole lot of sex. In fact the movie goes from black and white to color about the time Bela runs off with the Ruffalo character to Lisbon - black and white pre-sex, and color after. Enjoyed the steampunk vibe. Main character is a bit of a Mary Sue, but I’ll allow it.
