Having seen most of the movies playing in our local theaters, we went to TMNT, I didn’t have much in the way of expectations, but was surprised by how enjoyable this movie is. One of the most fun I’ve seen this year and the art style employed here is groundbreaking for the space. This movie along with the Spiderverse movies indicate that we might be looking at some very visually interesting animated movies in the future. Definitely worth seeing.

Ice Cube stole the show as Superfly. I was really impressed. Such a fun movie. I absolutely loved the whole sequence when the turtles are shaking down all the local crime bosses. Beautifully composed. Splinter’s fight scene, perfectly emulating Jackie Chan, was glorious. Kudos to them for giving the master his full due. Of course the old-school hip-hop tracks are awesome, but the original compositions are off-the-charts better than they had a right to be. I understood why when I saw Trent Reznor’s name in the credits.

Easily the best big screen rendition.

I loved it! It looked amazing, had an interesting story, great jokes, and a satisfying ending.

My favorite of the year so far. My nostalgia was off the charts and I loved every second of it.
