The University of Toronto had to partially reverse their all-gender shower policy shortly after implementing it. After the policy was instituted in 2015, several female students of the University of Toronto’s University College began noticing that someone was attempting to record them in dormitory bathrooms by holding a smartphone over the top of shower stalls they were occupying.

Some people find binary segregation bad, including, but not limited to transgender individuals. Some people, however, can get very uncomfortable with mixed option, and they need to have the separate one.
