CR (Consumer Reports) - How to eat less plastic (February 2024 edition)
The consumer can have a little plastic, as a treat
Ah. Like having a cheat day. On tuesdays, just have a little plastic toppings on your tacos…
Thought of this community as soon as this issue hit my eyes for the first time last week.
Not “how to stop eating plastic”…just how to eat less…cuz we all have to eat some…
Maybe the FDA will add it to the food pyramid.
Declare it a vegetable like pizza.
I feel like having a vegetable pizza now 😭
Real or plastic veggies?
Solid base of plastic
For years I avoided seafood for the microplastics issue, then that study just dropped revealing that it’s in chicken, beef, and plant-based meats too. Fuck

cuz we all have to eat some…
That is the unfortunate reality.
Step 1: make sure to choose to be born to rich parents…
(j/k - this is Step 1 to just about every such piece of advice the media tends to give these days:-P)
Reminds me of that movie with Louis de Funes and the aliens
Step 1 - Stop eating
With world hunger dropping, yes, our food system is the greatest so far.
…and the great news is that if you eat a heaping helping of plastic you’ll remain full forever!
Not true. I’m told I’m eating and drinking multiple helpings of plastic every day and I still get hungry.
Have you tried diet plastic?
It needs to be heaping, friend. Then you’ll never be hungry again, like this bird:
warning: dead bird
How could a bird live for any amount of time with that much plastic in it? I would think that one pointy pink piece alone would be enough to rupture their stomach and kill it
Ever shot a grouse?
I did as a wee human in the mountains and boy oh boy was I surprised at how much was in its belly when we cut it open.
