Bro you just won the internet with pedantic technical arguments that pretend to not understand what the person you’re arguing with is telling you.

          Trump - 50 000 votes

          Biden - 50 001 votes with you

          or

          Trump - 50 000 votes

          Biden - 50 000 votes

          3rd - 1 vote (you)

No one owes votes to Biden by default. This math doesn’t add to Trump’s rally. You’re saying @Zuberi@lemmy.dbzer0.com is automatically a Biden voter, but changing their mind would take votes away from Biden. At no point is Trump gaining anything from this.

No one votes for candidates by default. No one owes politicians votes.

It doesn’t matter whether you want to vote for him or not. Voting third just means you vote for the worst of the two main options.

I don’t live in the US, we have multi-party system, but it’s still first pass the post, so if I don’t vote for someone normal, my vote goes to void, and some fascists can get one step closer to the post.

If you want to dismantle the two party system, voting for anyone won’t do it.

Unless you like dictatorships and want to abolish voting. In which case, just vote Trump and be honest with yourself.

Both options are the worst options. My choices are between a blue genocidal fascist and a red genocidal fascist. Neither are any different except Trump is funnier.

I’m not going to pretend you are wrong - Biden’s attitude towards Israel is very genocidal indeed - but acting like they are both the same is utterly ridiculous.

Trump will dismantle the law. And support Russia and Israel. If the Project 2025 will happen, it won’t be funny anymore for anyone.

Once again, I’m not from the US, but we still feel the echoes of what happens in the US in our political climate. This will send the crazies to full overdrive globally.

Can you even read what you’re saying? “yes, Biden is genocidal, but…” No, there is no but. I’m not going to endorse genocide, period, for any reason and that includes a ceremonial vote for the genocidal Democrats. The crazies are already in power and in full overdrive and which elderly psychopath sits in the oval office is irrelevant to that. The law in the US doesn’t exist. Biggest prison population on earth, mass shooting every three days. There is no law here I’m enjoying. The state is on rails and there’s no democratic influence on it whatsoever.

If Trump is so dangerous, why even bother with allowing a vote in the first place? No vote should be held then. If it’s so dangerous, then Biden should suspend elections. If Trump is truly this big of a threat, the state should assassinate him.

The state will do nothing because they know the same thing I know: the particulars of the president don’t matter. The engine of American imperialism exists regardless of who sits in the cockpit.
