Aldis, I’d starve if it wasn’t for you. Everything still went up, but at least it wasn’t 50% more like other grocers.
The heavily fucked olive oil has a fantastic viscosity to it, and guarantees slick yet sticky cooking surface.
Also it tastes like penis which Robert California approves of.
Fwiw, the cheap olive oil is really good for mayo you make yourself. EVOO should be used for things like salads and bread, where the taste makes the difference.
If you want oil in a pan, cheap stuff works just fine…only you have to be careful because olive oil in the states isn’t always olive oil.
Gotta get something with a low smoke point
In the USA and (most, if not all of) Canada, calling 211 should connect you with a call center which can give information on food benefits, utility assistance and other resources available in your area. Eligibility and the amount of assistance (whether in the form of direct payments, food items or a payment card that only works for food) will vary based on your location, income, etc. but it may help offset those increased costs.
There’s no shame in it despite what the red-hat golden bootstraps crowd will tell you. Times are tough right now for a lot of people and that’s what these programs are for.
Back to the regularly scheduled shitposting though.
Always take advantage of things you can take advantage of. When we moved out our power company had a program for free appliances so we applied just for the heck of it and got a free fridge and washing machine, we were pretty surprised we got it but that helped us a ton

I love Aldi, but why does every location in my city seem to have such a lackluster selection of frozen veggies in comparison to other grocery stores??? It’s been this way for years.
I just want to have the option to buy the big bags of broccoli/stir fry veggies/ect. that have enough for more than one meal, not the little steamable ones that seem to be more expensive and probably waste more plastic.
Why not buy fresh? Or do you stock up a lot ahead of time?
Why I cook with Frozen Vegetables (& you should too)
Haven’t watched this yet, to be honest. But I like Ethan Chlebowski’s videos for the most part.
