      Wow!

Thanks for sharing about the cover!

I just added it to ‘post to lemmy later in the near future’ folder, hahahaha

      Another random but interesting? info:

This cover of the Ben E. King classic serves as the main theme of the RPG video game Final Fantasy XV.

In the announcement trailer, Florence described “Stand By Me” as “one of the greatest songs of all time”; explaining that it was impossible to ‘improve’ upon, so “you just have to do your own!”.

From the plot of FFXV, the song can be interpreted from the perspective of the protagonist and only playable character, Noctis Lucis Caelum. “Stand By Me” is Noctis’s way of expressing the feelings of gratitude in his heart that he can’t say straight out. source

The classic Final Fantasy prelude is integrated in the song’s intro and first verse.

“Dog Days Are Over” is a single off of Lungs, and is considered the band’s first big hit in both the US and the UK.

This harp-based track is about suddenly finding happiness, and disbelieving that it’s actually there.

According to one interview, the song title comes from an art piece by Ugo Rondinone.

The song was released as the album second single in 2008 with “You’ve Got The Love” as its B-Side. However, after the album’s success after its release in 2009, the band re-released the song as single in 2010. This time, the B-Side of single was a remix of “Dog Days Are Over”.

Here’s the 2008 original single cover of Dog Days Are Over:

Interesting, I’ve never heard the harp in this song before bc I’ve only heard it on the radio. Just heard it now with my headphones though!
