If you knew about the birds and the bees, you would know that this wasn’t random.
To be fair 10^(0.000000000000000000001x) is also exponential growth. And if status quo is x=0 and removing entire management means x=10 this means even the max we can get is very little improvement. It can be “exponential” and still not so much.
“Exponentially” is not synonymous to “a lot”. Exponent is a mathematical term and exponential growth requires at least two variables exponentially related to each other. For this to be possibly exponential growth a) progress should be quantifiable (removing management and treating workers well should be quantized somehow) b) performance should be quantifiable and measured at a bunch of progress points (if you have only two measurements it can as well be linear) c) performance should be or can be modeled as a an exponential function of progress in removing management and treating workers well.
I don’t think this will work well and others already explained why, but thanks for using this community to pitch your idea. We should have more of these discussions here rather than CEO news and tech gossip.
We should stop calling these titles confusing and call them what they are, plain wrong. This is the title of the original article. People who cannot write grammatically correct titles are writing entire articles.
I don’t realistically expect such ban to happen. I started banning everyone who posts about Musk instead, my feed got a lot cleaner.
Web design is not the only option for someone who likes programming. Since you are still a student, there are so many options in front of you. You can be an embedded engineer and work closer to hardware, design firmware, electronic chips themselves or their verification environment. You can be a software engineer and work on business-to-business software which does not include adds and is very useful (e.g. CAD tools, inventory trackers for supermarkets and hospitals etc.). There is so much you can do, pursue something you are enthusiastic about.
Are you writing from your grave?
In this article RTL refers to register transfer level. It is a way of describing hardware on very low level, it uses registers for memory (which usually translates to flip-flops when/if synthesized), wires, basic arithmetic and logic operations, but terminology may slightly change based on which rtl language is being used. It can be used to design a CPU, or any ASIC (application specific integrated circuit) chip. Instructions may resemble to processor instructions, but the end result is fundamentally different. You may run a set of instructions on a processor, while what rtl describes is often synthesized and becomes the hardware itself which performs the operations (e.g. arithmetic logic unit in the cpu).
I love airplane, I will check others.
I should have thought of that
What is it?
That sounds fun and creative
Hi fellow believer, is there an FSM community you know in Lemmy?
In my last two jobs in two different countries the unwritten rule is to not schedule a meeting between 12-13. Not everyone has lunch at the same time, and everyone is free to have lunch whenever they want, but this guarantees that you will have some time to have lunch even if you are booked by meetings around noon. But it doesn’t really solve the timezone issue.
When there are multiple relevant communities, I post on the smaller community and crosspost that to the bigger one. I hope thay this would advertise the smaller community in the bigger one since I expect that some people in the bigger one may be interested in the smaller community but don’t know about it.
One worry I usually have about working with academia is working on something so specialized with so many limitations that it cannot go further than becoming a toy example. I agree with you that industry probably is more promising for future development with many more experts. Thanks for your advice
Thank you for your advice. It is a nice idea to look for a job with more research focus. I am guessing the tool vendors may offer research related jobs regarding formal verification which limits the options to a few US-based companies, but I will definitely look into it.
It is definitely not something I will rush. There is nothing that forces me to get PhD right away so I will wait until I find something very interesting, and a good advisor.
Not answering the question but if you studied in English outside of the UK it may be enough. But you need to certify that you studied in English through https://www.ecctis.com/visasandnationality . That is how I did it, and I think it is easier and can be quicker.
