In the last year I have switched to all cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel for all my pots and pans.

No Teflon or “non-stick” coated garbage for me. Properly seasoned and cared for cast iron, carbon, or stainless steel will all be nearly as good as a “non-stick” pan and doesn’t have the risk factor.

Recently, non-stick pans have been released that supposedly are safer, but I don’t really feel like trusting billion dollar corpos to not lie for the 20th time about that, not when there are fantastic alternatives.

Non-stick cookware isn’t a significant source of PFAS exposure because while technically a PFAS, PTFE is a stable polymer. This is important because you might have replaced your cookware and feel safe while not realizing that the sofa and the rug in your home are spewing PFAS in the air every time you brush against them. I threw out a nice sofa because of this. Furniture and carpets are the main source for residential PFAS exposure. Unless your water is super contaminated of course.

While true, I’m discussing the significance of exposure. That is what amount you can get into your body from different sources and the appropriate attention they should receive. PFAS in PTFE are residues from shit manufacturing. Even when they’re present, the amounts aren’t large. Stain-resistant furniture and carpets on the other hand are literally laced with PFAS to achieve this. So are most water resistant jackets. Household upholstery sprays like Scotchgard had PFOS as their active ingredient. Not sure what PFAS they use today. I know of multiple people who read a few titles about PFAS, replaced their cookware and kept laying naked on their PFAS-laden couches until I alerted them to it.

          E: Forgot about food packaging.

When all of our great-grandchildren are mutant flesh lumps with the intelligence of a border collie, this will be a big factor.

On Friday, I was told that it was a good thing these cases are being handled by the judiciary again.

The same judiciary which is currently deliberating on whether or not the president can legally commit felonies.

The judiciary which has a backlog of cases and this will further create a backlog.

Lawyers must be happy about endless billable hours, of course.

Good news! The president CAN legally commit felonies now! How cool is that?

As a European, I am terribly sorry for what’s happening over there. It really worries me, as it’ll have an effect on the entire world 😞

Yep. It’s your planet too. Basically corporations have been given free reign in America to fuck it up here which will fuck it up everywhere else.

It’s great when the highest court in the land has decided to use the court as a weapon and reinterpret settled case law, which just happens to be in favor of the people giving them bribes gratuities. Weird that! Can’t wait for my friends to spend $2.4 million on me …

PFOA is a relatively larger compound, and smaller “short-chain” PFAS that industry now more commonly produces and claims are safer were absorbed at higher levels – up to nearly 60% of one short chain compound dose was absorbed by the skin.

“This is important because we see a shift in industry towards chemicals with shorter chain lengths because these are believed to be less toxic – however the trade-off might be that we absorb more of them, so we need to know more about the risks involved,” said study co-author Stuart Harrad.

Oh nice. Well at least shorter chain PFAS degrade faster, but that’s a shit consolation prize.
